Papaverine Indications
- spasms of smooth muscles of the abdominal cavity organs (pilorospasm, spastic colitis, cholecystitis, attacks of cholelithiasis);
- spasms of the urinary tract, renal colic;
- spasm of cerebral vessels;
- spasm of the coronary vessels (associated, for example, with acute myocardial infarction, angina pectoris);
- spasms of peripheral vessels (endarteritis).
Contradictions
Hypersensitivity to the drug components, arterial hypotension, violation of atrioventricular conduction, coma, respiratory depression, simultaneous administration of monoamine oxidase inhibitors; glaucoma, hepatic failure, children under 1 year.
Dosage & Administration
Intramuscularly and intravenously.
Subcutaneously and intramuscularly, adults and children between the ages of 14 and 0.5-2 ml (10-40 mg) of 2% solution are injected intramuscularly and injected very slowly at a rate of 3-5 ml / min, dissolving 1 ml of a 2% solution papaverine hydrochloride (20 mg) in 10-20 ml 0.9% sodium chloride solution.
