Dexamethasone Indications
Treatment of steroid-sensitive non-infectious inflammatory and allergic conditions of the conjunctiva, cornea, anterior segment of the eye, including inflammation reaction in the postoperative period.
Dosage & Administration
Only use in ophthalmology. Before use, shake the bottle!
Adults, including the elderly, - in acute inflammation in the conjunctival sac instilled 1-2 drops every 30-60 minutes as initial therapy if the treatment effect is positive, then reduce the dose to 1-2 drops every 2-4 hours, dose can be reduced to 1 drop 3-4 times per day if it is enough to control the inflammation process. If the desired result is not achieved for 3-4 days, additional system or subconjunctival therapy may be scheduled.
In chronic inflammation instilled into the conjunctival sac of 1-2 drops every 3-6 hours, or more frequently if necessary.
In allergy or slight inflammation was instilled into the conjunctival sac of 1-2 drops every 3-4 hours until the desired effect.
Do not discontinue therapy prematurely.
After instillation is recommended careful closing of the eyelids or nasolacrimal occlusion. This reduces the systemic absorption of the drug administered to the eye, which reduces the accuracy of systemic side effects.
When concomitant therapy with other local ophthalmic preparations must be observed 10-15 min interval between their use.
Contradictions
Dexamethasone or hypersensitivity to any component of the drug. Acute superficial keratitis caused by Herpes simplex; cow, chicken pox and other viral diseases of the cornea and conjunctiva; bacterial infection of the eye. Mycobacterial infections of the eye caused by, but not limited to, acid-resistant bacteria, such as tuberculosis Mysobacterium, Mysobacterium leprae or Mysobacterium avium.
