NuvaRing vaginal ring is inserted into the woman alone. The physician should inform the woman how to insert and remove NuvaRing.

For the introduction of the ring to take a comfortable position: to become a lifting leg, sit or lie down. to compress and introduce NuvaRing Before the introduction of the ring into the vagina so that it is well accommodated. The exact position of the ring inside the vagina is not critical for the contraceptive effect.

Since the introduction of the ring must remain in the vagina continuously for 3 weeks. If you accidentally removing rings (eg by removing a tampon), it should be washed with cold or cool (not hot) water and immediately enter the vagina again. NuvaRing must be removed after 3 weeks on the same day of the week, when it was introduced. After a week's break, you must enter a new ring.

NuvaRing can be removed by hooking the index finger or hold the ring finger and middle finger. Bleeding associated with the discontinuation of the drug, usually begins 2-3 days after extraction of NuvaRing and may continue until the day of the introduction of the next ring.

Contradictions

- venous thrombosis with / without pulmonary embolism, now or in history;

- arterial thrombosis (cerebrovascular accident, myocardial infarction) or precursors of thrombosis (angina or transient ischemic cerebrovascular accident) now or in history;

- predisposition for venous or arterial thrombosis, with or without the inclusion of such genetic disorders as a resistance of activated protein C (APC), the lack of antithrombin III, deficiency of protein C, protein deficiency of the S, hyperhomocysteinemia, antiphospholipid antibodies (anticardiolipin antibodies, lupus anticoagulant), migraine with focal neurological symptoms;

- diabetes with vascular complications; pancreatitis, or myocardial pancreatitis, which is accompanied by hypertriglyceridemia;

- severe liver disease (until such time as the liver function tests do not return to normal values);

- liver tumors (benign or malignant, the presence at a given time or history);

- hormone-dependent cancers (diagnosed or suspected);

 -vaginal bleeding of unknown etiology;

- confirmed or probable pregnancy;

- lactation;

- hypersensitivity to any component of the formulation.
