Neuralgin Indications
Epilepsy.
As additional therapy in the treatment of partial seizures with secondary generalization or without in adults and children aged 6 years.
As monotherapy in the treatment of partial seizures with secondary generalization or without in adults and children aged 12 years.
Treatment of peripheral neuropathic pain such as painful diabetic neuropathy and post-herpetic neuralgia in adults.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the drug.
Dosage & Administartion
Epilepsy typically requires long-term therapy. The dose determined by the physician according to individual tolerance and efficacy of drug treatment.
Adults and children over 12 years
The range of effective doses ranged from 900 to 3600 mg per day.
Therapy can be started, adjusting the dose as described in Table 1 or of 300 mg 3 times a day as early as the first day. Then, based on individual patient response and tolerability, the dose can further increase to 300 mg every 2-3 days to a maximum dose of 3600 mg per day.
Children under 6 years
The initial dose should be 10 to 15 mg / kg / day and the effective dose is achieved by upward titration of the dose for about 3 days. The effective dose of gabapentin for children 6 years old is 25-35 mg / kg / day.
