Nebutamol Indications
Treatment of adults and children from 4 years. The drug is indicated for rapid relief of acute asthma attacks and to treat patients with chronic obstructive bronchitis who do not respond to traditional therapy.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity history to any component of the drug.
Although salbutamol in solution for intravenous injection and sometimes in the form of tablets and suppositories used in the management of preterm labor, salbutamol in aerosol form for inhalation in these indications is not applicable. Not used salbutamol at risk of miscarriage.
Dosage & Administration
Nebutamol drug is intended for inhalation use by inhalation through the mouth using a nebulizer, its use should be under medical supervision.
The solution should not be administered by injection or swallow.
Increased need for beta2-agonists may indicate worsening asthma. Under these conditions, should review the patient regimen and consider the need for the appointment of concomitant glucocorticosteroid therapy.
Adults (including elderly patients)
The usual starting dose of inhaled salbutamol is 2.5 mg. It can be increased to 5 mg. Repeat inhalation can be up to 4 times a day.
For the treatment of adult patients with severe airflow obstruction dose may be increased to 40 mg per day, but this treatment should be performed in a hospital under careful medical supervision.
Children under 12 years
Dose as for adults.
Children aged 4 to 11 years
The usual starting dose of inhaled salbutamol is 2.5 mg. It can be increased to 5 mg. Repeat inhalation can be up to 4 times a day.
