Pharmacological properties: It has anabolic activity. Normalizing nucleic acid metabolism, accelerates the cellular regeneration processes in the wound, accelerating the growth and maturation of the granulation tissue and epithelialization. When topically applied to a wound has PHOTOPROTECTIVE properties.
Indications: slowly healing wounds, burns (thermal, chemical, radiation), fotodermatit. Methyluracilum can be used prophylactically to prevent skin reactions during irradiation of tumors with low radiosensitivity, and later reduce radioepiteliita wall adhesions (occlusion) of the vagina - in the case of radiation therapy genital tumors.
Contraindications: increased sensitivity to the drug, excessive granulation.
Dosing and Administration: topically ointment applied daily to the affected portions of 5 - 10 g daily for 15 - 30 days. The ointment is used in loose tampons in radiation dermatitis and late radiation damage to the vagina.
Side effect: allergic reactions, headache, dizziness, short-term burning.
