Olatropil Indications
Adults:
- diseases of the nervous system for the treatment of vascular encephalopathy (atherosclerosis, hypertension);
- chronic cerebro-vascular insufficiency with impaired memory, concentration, speech, dizziness, headache;
- for the treatment of encephalopathy (alcohol, post-stroke, post-traumatic);
- the treatment of senile dementia (including Alzheimer's disease);
- psychoorganic for the treatment of syndromes of different etiologies.
Children:
- treatment of dyslexia;
- with mental retardation.
Dosage & Administration
Olatropil is taken orally before a meal. The optimal dose for adults is to appoint 1 capsule 3-4 times a day. If necessary, possibly a gradual increase in the dose to 6 capsules per day.
Children under the age of 8 years, 1 capsule 3 times a day.
Therapeutic effect usually develops within 2 weeks from the start of treatment.
The course of drug treatment is from 1 to 2 months and repeated after 6-8 weeks, if necessary.
Contradictions
- Hypersensitivity to piracetam or pyrrolidone derivatives, and other ingredients.
- Acute ischemic stroke (hemorrhagic stroke). End-stage renal failure (creatinine clearance at <20 mL / min).
- Huntington's Chorea.
- Children under 8 years old.
- During pregnancy and breastfeeding.
