Cognum Indications
In the complex therapy:
- Cognitive disorders in organic brain damage (including the effects neuroinfections and traumatic brain injury);
- Cerebrovascular insufficiency caused by atherosclerotic changes in vessels of the brain;
- Extrapyramidal disorders (myoclonus, epilepsy, Huntington's chorea, Parkinson's disease);
- Epilepsy slowness of mental processes in the treatment with antiepileptic drugs;
- Psycho-emotional overload, reduced mental and physical performance (for improving concentration and memory);
- Neurogenic urinary disorders: enuresis, polakiuriya, compelling urge, imperative urinary incontinence;
- Drug shown to children aged 3 years with perinatal encephalopathy, mental retardation of varying degrees of severity, delayed development (mental, verbal, motor) with different forms of cerebral palsy, the hyperkinetic disorders (syndrome of hyperactivity with attention deficit, tykah) while stuttering (mostly clonic form), neurosis-like states.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the drug; acute severe kidney disease.
Dosage & Administration
Cognum is used in the complex therapy.
Tablets take 15-30 minutes after eating.
Dose for children aged 12 years and adults - 250 mg-1000 mg for children aged 3 to 12 years - 250-500 mg.
Daily dose for children aged 12 years and adults - 1500-3000 mg for children aged 3 to 12 years - 750 mg-3000 mg.
The course of treatment is from 1 to 4 months, in some cases - up to 6 months. After 3-6 months may conduct re-treatment.
Neuroinfections and consequences of head injuries: children aged 3 years and adults - 250 mg 3-4 times a day.
In cerebrovascular insufficiency: adults - 250 mg 3-4 times a day.
For the treatment of extrapyramidal disorders caused by the use of neuroleptics: children aged 12 years and adults - 500 mg-1000 mg 3 times a day for children aged 3 to 12 years - 250-500 mg 3-4 times a day. The course of treatment is 1-3 months.
Epilepsy in combination with anticonvulsants: children aged 3 to 12 years 250-500 mg 3-4 times a day for children aged 12 years and adults - 500 mg-1000 mg 3-4 times a day, every day, for a long time (up to 6 months).
Psycho-emotional overload, reduce mental and physical performance: children aged 3 years and adults - 250 mg 3 times a day.
