Levoximed Indications
Topical treatment of external bacterial eye infections in patients over 1 year of age caused by levofloxacin-sensitive microorganisms.Topical treatment of external bacterial eye infections in patients over 1 year of age caused by levofloxacin-sensitive microorganisms.
Contradictions
Hypersensitivity to levofloxacin, to other quinolones or to other components of the drug, such as benzalkonium chloride.
Dosage & Administration
The drug is intended for ophthalmic use.
Instill eye drops 1-2 drops in the affected eye (s) every 2 hours up to 8 times a day for the first 2 days (immediately after waking up), from the 3rd to the 5th day - 4 times a day .
The duration of treatment depends on the severity of the disorder, as well as the clinical and bacteriological course of the disease. Usually the treatment period is 5 days.
To prevent contamination of the pipette tip and solution, the pipette tip should not come into contact with the eyelids or surrounding areas of the eye.
When using different topical ophthalmic drugs in parallel, the interval between instillations should be at least 15 minutes.
The safety and efficacy of treatment of corneal ulcers and neonatal ophthalmia have not been established.
As safety and efficacy data are not available, the drug is not recommended for use in children under 1 year of age.
Elderly patients.
Such patients do not need to adjust the dosage of the drug.
Children.
Doses for such patients are similar to those used for adults.
Special warnings and precautions for use are the same for adults and children over 1 year of age.
