Lerkamen Indications
Essential hypertension is mild or moderate severity.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the active substance, to any dihydropyridine or to any component of the drug.
Pregnancy and lactation.
Women of reproductive age, if they do not use contraception.
Obstruction vessels out of the left ventricle.
Untreated congestive heart failure.
Unstable angina.
Severe hepatic dysfunction or kidney.
Within 1 month after myocardial infarction.
Concomitant use with: SYR strong inhibitors of 3A4, grapefruit juice and cyclosporine.
Dosage & Administration
Adults. The tablets are used orally, 1 time a day, at least 15 minutes before eating. The recommended dose is 10 mg per day (which used the drug Lerkamen 10), but it can be increased to 20 mg per day, depending on the individual patient perception.
The dosage is gradually established as the maximum antihypertensive effect may occur within 2 weeks after starting treatment. Lerkamen 20 can be taken simultaneously with inhibitors of angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors, diuretics, β-blockers. It is unlikely that efficacy will increase with increasing dosage, but at the same time may increase adverse effects.
Elderly patients. Although data pharmacokinetics and clinical experience suggest that no dose adjustment is required, one should be very careful, since the treatment of older people.
