Jumex Indications
Parkinson's disease or symptomatic parkinsonism - as monotherapy in the initial stage of the disease or in combination with drugs levodopa (combined with peripheral decarboxylase inhibitors or not).
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to selegiline or to any of the excipients of the drug.
- In combination with the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs); serotonin reuptake inhibitors and norepinephrine (venlafaxine), tricyclic antidepressants; sympathomimetics; MAO inhibitors (eg linezolid) and opioids (petydynom).
- In patients with duodenal ulcer or stomach in the acute stage.
In the appointment of selegiline in combination with levodopa must be considered as contraindications related to levodopa.
Dosage & Administration
Selegiline is used as monotherapy for early stage disease or in combination with drugs levodopa (combined with peripheral decarboxylase inhibitors or not). In both cases the starting dose is 5 mg, which is taken in the morning. Yumeksâ The dose may be increased to 10 mg per day (can be taken in the morning or in two divided doses).
If the use of the drug as an adjunctive therapy to levodopa preparations having adverse reactions caused by levodopa dose of the latter should be reduced.
Individual patient population.
Patients with impaired hepatic function. Data on dose adjustment for patients with hepatic dysfunction mild missing.
Patients with impaired renal function. Data on dose adjustment for patients with renal dysfunction mild missing.
