Movixicam Indications
Short-term symptomatic treatment of exacerbation of osteoarthritis.
Long-term symptomatic treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and ancylosing spondylitis.
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to meloxicam or other components of the drug, as well as the active substances with a similar action, such as NSAIDs, aspirin. Meloxicam should not be given to patients who have asthma symptoms arise, nasal polyps, angioneurotic edema or urticaria after taking aspirin or other NSAIDs;
- Gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation related to previous NSAIDs therapy history;
- Active or recurrent peptic ulcer / bleeding history (two or more separate confirmed cases of ulcers or bleeding);
- Severe hepatic insufficiency;
- Severe renal insufficiency without the use of dialysis;
- Gastrointestinal bleeding, cerebrovascular bleeding or a history of other blood clotting;
- Severe heart failure;
- Treatment of perioperative pain in coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG)
Dosage & Administration
For oral administration.
The total daily dose used once.
The tablet should be put on the tongue and wait about 5 minutes until it is completely dissolved. The tablet does not chew and not swallow whole. After dissolving requests 240 ml of water. Water can also be applied to hydrate the oral mucosa for patients with dry mouth.
- In acute osteoarthritis: 7.5 mg (one tablet 7.5 mg or half a tablet of 15 mg); if necessary, the dose can be increased to 15 mg (1 tablet of 15 mg or 2 tablets of 7.5 mg).
- In rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis: 15 mg (1 tablet of 15 mg or 2 tablets of 7.5 mg).
Do not exceed a dose of 15 mg / day.
