Livazo Indications
- To reduce elevated total cholesterol (total cholesterol) and low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C);
- adult patients with primary hypercholesterolaemia, including heterozygous familial hypercholesterolaemia and combined (mixed) dyslipidaemia when response to diet and other non-pharmacological therapy is insufficient.
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to pitavastatynu or to any of the excipients or other statins;
- severe liver failure, liver disease in the active stage or persistent increase in serum transaminases of unknown etiology (more than 3 times the upper limit of normal [ULN]);
- meaning creatinine clearance (CC) more than 5 times the upper limit of normal;
- myopathy;
- simultaneous cyclosporine therapy.
Administration
The tablet should not be chewed. Livazo can be taken at any time of the day regardless of the meal. It is advisable that the patient took a pill the same time every day. Statin therapy is generally more effective at night because circadian rhythm of lipid metabolism. Patients should be on a diet low in cholesterol before treatment. It is important that patients continue to diet during treatment.
