PIMAFUCIN antifungal vulvovaginal candidiasis
Pimafucin - antifungal agent.
The active ingredient of the drug is natamycin - polyene macrolide antibiotic series. It has a wide spectrum of action. It shows the fungicidal activity, as sterols blocks of cell membranes of fungi, which leads to the death of the microorganism. It is sensitive to fungi of the genus Candida spp. Several exhibits less sensitivity to dermatophytes. To date, in clinical practice, no cases of resistance to natamycin.
Natamycin is practically not absorbed in the alimentary canal, it is not absorbed from mucous membranes and skin. Due to the enteric coating tablets Pimafutsin effect observed in the intestines.
Indications for use: Infections fungal etiology, caused by microorganisms sensitive to natamycin:
· Vulvovaginal candidiasis;
· Fungal gastrointestinal disease caused by deficiency of immunity, cachexia, receiving cytotoxic drugs, antibiotics, corticosteroids (including acute pseudomembranous candidiasis and atrophic, intestinal candidiasis);
· Comprehensive treatment in the case of systemic fungal disease;
· Fungal disease of the skin and skin appendages (nails).
