Fortum INDICATIONS
Ceftazidime for the treatment of mono- and mixed infections caused by susceptible microorganisms.
Severe infections:
- sepsis, bacteraemia, peritonitis, meningitis
- infection in patients with reduced immunity
- for patients in intensive care, eg infected burns
- respiratory tract infections, lung infections including in patients with cystic fibrosis
- infections of the upper respiratory tract
- urinary tract infections
- infections of the skin and soft tissues
- gastrointestinal tract infections, biliary tract and the abdominal cavity
- bone and joint infections
- infections associated with peritoneal dialysis and hemodialysis or continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis
- for prophylaxis during surgical interventions on the prostate (transurethral resection)
APPLICATION
Dose depends on the severity of the disease, the sensitivity, the localization and the type of infection and the patient's age and renal function.
Recommend to use of the drug to carry out a skin test tolerance.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Hypersensitivity to cephalosporin antibiotics.
Hypersensitivity to ceftazidime pentahydrate or to any ingredient of the drug.
