Terbinafine in the form of a spray, cream and gel prescribed for fungal infections of the skin caused by dermatophytes such as Trichophyton (eg T. rubrum, T. mentagrophytes, T. verrucosum, T. violaceum), Microsporum canis and Epidermophyton floccosum, for example, in tinea pedis ("athlete's foot"), tinea groin ("jock itch"), tinea of the body (ringworm); pityriasis versicolor (Pityriasis versicolor), the called Pityrosporum orbiculare (also known as Malassezia furfur); preparation in the form of a cream is prescribed also for skin infections caused by yeast fungi of the genus Candida (eg C. albicans).
