ACIC Indications
- Treatment of infections of the skin and mucous membranes caused by Herpes simplex virus 1 and type 2, both primary and recurrent, including genital herpes.
- Prevention of recurrence of infections caused by Herpes simplex virus 1 and type 2 diabetes in patients with normal immune systems.
- Prevention of infections caused by the herpes simplex virus in patients with immunodeficiency.
- Treatment of infections caused by the virus Varicella zoster (shingles and chicken pox).
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to acyclovir or any excipient.
Prophylactic use in patients with severe renal impairment or anuria.
Dosage & Administration
Tablets should be taken whole with water after eating.
