Felodip Indications
Essential hypertension. Prophylactic treatment of chronic stable angina.
Contraindications
- An allergic reaction to felodipine, and other dyhidropirymidyny (theoretical risk of cross-reactivity) or other components of the drug.
- Unstable angina / stenocardia.
- Clinically significant aortic stenosis, decompensated heart failure, or during or within 1 month after myocardial infarction.
- Cardiogenic shock.
- Pregnancy or lactation.
- Children age.
Dosage & Administration
Hypertension.
Adults (including elderly patients):
Dosage is always determined individually.
Therapy begins with a dose of 5 mg 1 time a day. If necessary, the dose can be increased or add another antihypertensive drug. Generally, the maintenance dose is 5-10 mg 1 time a day.
For the elderly the initial dose of 2.5 mg 1 per day may be sufficient.
Angina.
Dosage is always determined individually.
Therapy begins with a dose of 5 mg once daily. If necessary, this dose can be increased to 10 mg 1 time a day.
The maximum dose is 20 mg per day.
