ESMYA INDICATIONS:
• Ulipristal acetate is indicated for one course of preoperative therapy for moderate and severe uterine fibroids in adult reproductive women.
• Ulipristal acetate is indicated for intermittent treatment of moderate and severe uterine fibroids in adult reproductive women who have not been shown surgical treatment.
APPLICATION:
Treatment with the drug Esmia should be started and carried out under the supervision of a doctor who has experience in the diagnosis and treatment of uterine fibroids.
Doses. Take 1 tablet of 5 mg once a day for courses of no more than 3 months each, regardless of food intake. Treatment should always be started only after the onset of menstruation:
- the first course of treatment should always be started during the first week of menstruation;
- repeated courses of treatment should be started as early as possible - during the first week of the second menstrual cycle after completion of the previous course of therapy. The doctor should inform the patient of the need to take breaks in the use of the drug.
The studied duration of long-term treatment is 4 courses of intermittent therapy.
If you miss a dose of ulipristal acetate, you should take it as soon as possible. If the delay is more than 12 hours, the missed dose is not taken, and restores the usual mode of administration.
Contraindication:
• Increased sensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients
drug.
• Pregnancy and breastfeeding.
• Bleeding from the vagina of unclear etiology or for reasons other than uterine fibroids.
• Uterine cancer, cervical cancer, ovarian or breast cancer.
• Existing liver disease.
