CIPROFLOXACINUM - active ingredient: ciprofloxacin.
Indications& Dosage
- uncomplicated and complicated infections caused by pathogens sensitive to ciprofloxacin
- respiratory tract infection (depending on the severity of the disease and the pathogen) - 2 × 500 - 2 × 750 mg
Urinary tract infections:
- Acute, uncomplicated - 2 × 250 mg - 2 × 500 mg
- Cystitis in women (before menopause) - single dose of 500 mg
- Complicated - 2 × 500 mg - 2 × 750 mg
Gonorrhea
- Extragenital 2 × 250 mg
- Acute uncomplicated - a single dose of 500 mg
Genital infections
- Uncomplicated gonorrhea (including extragenital foci of infection) - 1 × 500 mg
- adnexitis, prostatitis, orchiepididymitis - 2 × 500 mg - 2 × 750 mg
Diarrhea 2 × 500 mg
- In particularly serious, life-threatening infections, such as recurrent infections in patients with cystic fibrosis - 2 × 750 mg
- With infections of bones and joints - 2 × 750 mg
- Septicemia - 2 × 750 mg
- Peritonitis, particularly if Pseudomonas, Staphylococcus or Streptococcus presence - 2 × 750 mg
- Inhalation anthrax (After contact) - 2 × 500 mg
- Prevention of invasive infections caused by Neisseria meningitidis - 1 × 500 mg
Adverse reactions
Infections and infestations: fungal super-infection (candidiasis skin, candidiasis oral, gastro-intestinal, vaginal), antibiotic-associated colitis (very rarely - with the possible mortality).
