Cefutil INDICATIONS
Iinfections caused by microorganisms sensitive to cefuroxime:
infection of upper respiratory tract: otitis media, sinusitis, tonsillitis and pharyngitis;
respiratory tract infection: pneumonia, bronchitis, and acute exacerbation of chronic bronchitis;
infections of the kidneys and urinary tract infections: pyelonephritis, cystitis and urethritis;
skin and soft tissue infections: furunculosis, pyoderma and impetigo;
early stage Lyme disease and subsequent prevention of late manifestations of the disease of adults and children over the age of 12 years;
acute uncomplicated gonococcal urethritis, and cervicitis, gonorrhea.
Cefutil is effective in sequential treatment of pneumonia and acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis after a previous parenteral cefuroxime sodium.
APPLICATION
It is administered orally in adults and children over the age of 3 years after the meal.
Usually adults are appointed with 250 mg 2 times a day.
Urinary tract infections - 125 mg 2 times a day. Infections of the respiratory tract of moderate severity (bronchitis) - 250 mg 2 times a day; in more severe infections of the respiratory tract or suspected pneumonia - 500 mg 2 times a day. Pyelonephritis - 250 mg 2 times a day.
Uncomplicated gonorrhea - single dose of 1 g of the drug. Lyme disease in adults and children aged 12 years - on 500 mg 2 times a day for 20 days.
