Betamethasone cream

INDICATIONS: to reduce the inflammatory manifestations of dermatosis responsive to glucocorticoid therapy, such as eczema and dermatitis of all types, including atopic eczema, fotodermatit, lichen planus, atopic dermatitis, nodular prurigo, discoid lupus erythematosus, necrobiosis lipoid, pretibial myxedema and erythroderma. Additionally, also effective in the treatment of psoriasis of the scalp and other forms of psoriasis, except extensive plaque mold.

APPLICATION: cream is applied topically.

Dose is set individually, as it depends on the area of ​​the lesion. The cream is applied to the affected area with a thin layer 2 times a day, gently rubbing into the skin; after achieving clinical benefit rate of the drug may be decreased to 1 time per day. Duration of treatment is determined by the degree of relief of the inflammatory process, stopping itching, skin cleansing; the duration of treatment depends on the type and severity of the disease is determined by the doctor and usually 1-2 weeks, but not more than 3 weeks. By the repeated courses required range - not less than 20 days. The course of treatment in children and patients with lesions of the face should be no more than 5 days. Do not use in ophthalmic practice.

CONTRAINDICATIONS: the drug should not be used in primary viral, fungal and bacterial skin lesions, skin tuberculosis, skin manifestations of syphilis, skin reactions after vaccination, acne, perioral dermatitis, perianal and genital itching, rosacea, extensive plaque psoriasis, varicose veins, as well as with individual hypersensitivity to betamethasone or other components of the drug.

SIDE EFFECTS: Skin: prolonged therapy at the site of application may be the appearance of a burning sensation, itching, irritation, dryness, folliculitis, hypertrichosis, acne, hypopigmentation, hyperpigmentation, perioral dermatitis, allergic contact dermatitis, maceration of the skin, secondary infection, prickly heat.
