Betadine Indications
- prevention of infection in minor cuts and abrasions, minor burns and minor surgical procedures;
- treatment of fungal and bacterial infections of the skin and infected bedsores and venous ulcers.
Dosage & Administration
Preparation for topical use.
For the treatment of infection: applied 1-2 times per day. Duration of treatment - no more than 14 days.
To prevent infection: applied 1-2 times a week, while the need remains. The affected skin surface should be clean and dry, apply a thin layer of ointment. On the thus treated skin can bandage.
Contradictions
Hypersensitivity to iodine or to other components of the drug, hyperthyroidism, adenoma or dysfunction of the thyroid gland (nodular colloid goitre, endemic goitre and Hashimoto's thyroiditis), dermatitis herpetiformis Duhring, the condition before and after treatment or scintigraphy with radioactive iodine, renal failure, pregnancy and breast-feeding, age up to 1 year.
