Betadine Indications
Acute and chronic vaginal infections (coleitis):
- mixed infections; non-specific infection (bacterial vaginosis, Cardnenella vaginalis, trichomonas infection, genital herpes);
- fungal infections (including caused by Candida albicans) as a result of treatment with antibiotics and steroids;
- trichomoniasis (if necessary conduct a combined systemic treatment);
- preoperative and postoperative evaluation with transvaginal surgical procedures, as well as obstetric and diagnostic procedures.
Dosage & Administration
Suppository is removed from the shell and after humidification inserted deep in the vagina.
During treatment, it is recommended the use of sanitary napkins.
Dosing: 1 vaginal suppository is introduced deep into the vagina at night before bedtime. The drug should be used every day (including during menstruation).
In case of insufficient effectiveness of treatment can be continued, and the dose may be increased to two daily vaginal suppositories. The duration of treatment depends on the results of therapy, it is usually 7 days.
Contradictions
Hypersensitivity to iodine or to other components of the drug, hyperthyroidism, adenoma or dysfunction of the thyroid gland (nodular colloid goitre, endemic goitre and Hashimoto's thyroiditis), dermatitis herpetiformis Duhring, the condition before and after treatment or scintigraphy with radioactive iodine, renal failure, pregnancy and breast-feeding, age up to 1 year.
