Diflucan INDICATIONS
Acute vaginal candidiasis when local therapy is not appropriate.
Candidal balanitis when local therapy is not appropriate.
APPLICATION
The capsules should be swallowed whole. The drug is independent of food intake.
Adults
The drug is administered orally at a dose of 150 mg once.
Elderly patients
In the absence of signs of impaired renal function the treatment of these patients used the usual dose for adults.
Impaired renal function
Fluconazole is derived mainly from the urine in unchanged form. When the occasional use of the drug to correct dose of this category of patients is not required.
Abnormal liver function
Fluconazole should be used with caution in patients with impaired hepatic function, as information regarding the use of fluconazole in these patients is not enough.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
hypersensitivity to fluconazole, other azole compounds or any of the excipients of the formulation;
the simultaneous administration of fluconazole and terfenadine patients who use multiple fluconazole doses of 400 mg / day or higher (according to the study of interaction of multiple use);
simultaneous administration of fluconazole and other drugs which prolong the Q-T interval and metabolized by the enzyme CYP 3A4 (eg cisapride, astemizole, pimozide, quinidine and erythromycin).
