Treatment of chronic hepatitis C only in a combination therapy with peginterferon alfa-2b (adults aged 18 years) or interferon alpha-2b (adults and children over the age of 3 years) if the compensated liver disease.
Patients previously aretreated with interferon alpha therapy
Adults: in combination with peginterferon alfa-2b, or interferon alfa-2b in the presence of elevated levels of ALT and HVC-RNA in the blood plasma.
Children under the age of 3: in combination with interferon alpha-2b in the presence of HVC-RNA in the blood plasma.
Patients with relapsed after treatment with interferon alpha
Adults: in combination with peginterferon alfa-2b, or interferon alpha-2b, which was obtained with interferon-alpha monotherapy with a positive effect (with normalization of ALT at the end of treatment), but with a further relapse.
APPLICATION
therapy should conduct a doctor with experience in treating patients with hepatitis C. The drug should not be used as a single therapeutic agent for the treatment, because ribavirin is not effective as monotherapy for hepatitis C. It is taken along with food each day in 2 divided doses (morning and evening).
