Extencef Indications
Adults
Infections caused by microorganisms sensitive to the drug:
- Respiratory tract including pneumonia, bronchitis
- Skin and subcutaneous tissue
- Intra-abdominal infections, including peritonitis and biliary tract infections
- Gynecological
- Septicemia
Empirical therapy for patients with fever neytropenichnoyu
Prevention of postoperative complications in intra-abdominal surgery
Children
- Pneumonia
- Urinary tract infections, including pyelonephritis
- Infections of skin and subcutaneous tissue
- Septicemia
- Empirical therapy of patients with fever ;
- Bacterial meningitis
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to cefepime or L-arginine and antibiotic cephalosporin class, penicillins or other b-lactam antibiotics.
Dosage & Administration
Before using the drug to be done skin test for tolerance.
The usual dosage for adults is 1 g, administered intravenously or intramuscularly at intervals of 12 hours. The usual duration of treatment - 7-10 days; severe infections may require longer treatment.
