Duglimax Indications
As an adjunct to diet and exercise for patients with insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus type II:
- If monotherapy or sulfonylurea drugs metformin do not provide adequate glycemic control levels;
- The replacement of combination therapy with sulfonylurea and metformin.
Contraindications
- Insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (eg diabetes with a history ketonemiyeyu) ketonemiya diabetic, diabetic coma and prekomy, acute or chronic metabolic acidosis.
- Hypersensitivity to any of the excipients that are part of this drug, sulfonylureas, sulfonamides or biguanides.
- Severe hepatic dysfunction or being on hemodialysis (so far no experience of the drug). In case of severe disorders of the liver and kidneys to achieve adequate control of blood sugar levels need to transfer the patient to insulin.
Dosage & Administration
The dose of antidiabetic drugs should be individualized according to the level of sugar in the blood.
The starting dose of this drug is recommended to administer as the lowest effective dose in the following clinical situations.
For patients whose diabetes is not controlled by monotherapy with metformin or sulfonamides, the usual starting dose of this drug is 500/1 mg mg, which is administered once a day 1
The daily dose of glimepiride exceeding 6 mg is effective only for a small number of patients.
The drug should be taken one time a day before or during breakfast or the first main meal.
