Advodart Indications
Disgust of progression of benign prostatic hyperplasia by reducing prostate size, reduce the severity of symptoms, improvement of outflow of urine, reduce the risk of acute urinary retention and need for surgery.
In combination with tamsulosin — treatment and prevention of progression of benign prostatic hyperplasia by reducing prostate size, reduce the severity of symptoms and improve urine flow.
Dosage & Adminsitration
Avodart can be administered in monotherapy or in combination with a blocker of α-receptors tamsulosin (0.4 mg).
Adult men (including elderly patients)
The recommended dose of Avodart is 1 capsule (0.5 mg) per day orally. Swallow the capsule whole, do not open and do not chew, because when in contact with the contents of the capsule may result in irritation of the mucous membrane of the mouth and throat.
Avodart can be taken with or without food.
Despite the fact that reducing the severity of symptoms can be observed after a short time after taking the drug, for objective evaluation of the effectiveness of the drug treatment continued for at least 6 months.
Renal failure
For patients with renal insufficiency to adjust the dose is not necessary.
Liver failure
Farmacocinetica dutasteride in patients with hepatic insufficiency has not been studied.
Contradictions
- Hypersensitivity to dutasteride, other inhibitors of 5-α-reductase or other components of the drug.
