Sumamigren Indications
For fast relief state in migraine attacks with or without aura it.
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to sumatriptan or to any component of the drug.
- Myocardial infarction or a history of ischemic heart disease, coronary vasospasm (Prinzmetal's angina), peripheral circulatory violations, including bowel ischemia, the application of patients who have marked symptoms of coronary heart disease.
- Stroke or transient cerebrovascular accident in history.
- Severe hepatic insufficiency.
- Moderate or severe hypertension and mild uncontrolled hypertension.
- Simultaneous treatment with drugs containing ergotamine or derivatives of ergotamine, dihydroergotamine and including metyserhid.
- Simultaneous treatment with drugs containing MAO inhibitors (Sumamihren can take 14 days after last taking MAO inhibitors).
- For treatment of cluster headache (in the elderly).
Dosage & Administration
Sumamihren encouraged to apply as soon as possible after the onset of a migraine attack, though it is equally effective at every stage.
Sumamihrenu recommended dose for adults - 50 mg. In some cases, the dose may be increased to 100 mg. To achieve the appropriate dosage pills should be used with the appropriate content of the active ingredient.
If the dose will be ineffective, do not use another dose during the same attack. The next dose Sumamihrenu be applied during these attacks.
If the patient has responded to the first dose, but the symptoms are restored, the second dose can be applied within the next 24 hours, with a total daily dose during any 24 hours should not exceed 300 mg.
Tablets should be swallowed whole with water.
