Mardozia Indications
Treatment of high intraocular pressure in patients with open-angle glaucoma or pseudoexfoliative glaucoma, in whom monotherapy with topical beta-blockers is not effective.
Contradictions
The drug Mardosia is contraindicated in patients:
- with reactive respiratory diseases, including a history of bronchial asthma or bronchial asthma, or severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease;
- with sinus bradycardia, sinus weakness syndrome, sinoatrial block, atrioventricular block of II or III degree, which is not controlled by a pacemaker, severe heart failure, cardiogenic shock;
- with severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance CrCl
- with hypersensitivity to one or both active substances or to any of the components of the drug;
- during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
The above contraindications are based on information on the individual active ingredients and are not specific to the combination.
Dosage & Administration
Instill 1 drop of the drug into the conjunctival sac of the affected eye (s) twice a day.
If another topical ophthalmic drug is used concomitantly, the interval between instillation of Mardosia and another medicinal product should be at least 10 minutes.
Patients should wash their hands before using the drug and avoid contact of the dropper tip with the surface of the eye or eyelids. To ensure proper dosing, do not increase the opening of the dropper tip.
Patients should be advised that ocular solutions may be contaminated with common bacteria that are known to cause eye infections if mishandled. The use of contaminated solutions can lead to serious eye damage and subsequent loss of vision.
To reduce systemic absorption, followed by a decrease in systemic side effects and an increase in local efficacy of the drug after instillation, it is recommended to close the nasolacrimal duct or close the eyelids for 2 minutes.
