LAEVOMYCETIN INDICATIONS:
chloramphenicol should be used in exceptional cases of severe infections caused by susceptible microorganisms to chloramphenicol if safer antibiotics are ineffective or contraindicated. Indications: typhoid fever (Salmonella thyphi); paratyphoid A and B; sepsis caused by salmonella; Meningitis caused by Salmonella and Haemophilus influenzae; purulent bacterial meningitis; rickettsioses.
APPLICATION:
chloramphenicol daily dose depends on age and body weight of the patient, and the type and severity of the infection. The daily dose is administered in 2-4 reception, to avoid a high peak level in the blood plasma concentration of the drug. Chloramphenicol is used for adults.
For children it is used in prepared form ex tempore. Before the introduction is necessary to test for tolerance of the drug in the absence of contraindications to its performance.
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
increased individual sensitivity to chloramphenicol (chloramphenicol) and other amphenicols. Inhibition of blood, blood diseases, acute porphyria. Skin diseases (psoriasis, eczema, fungal infections). Expressed human liver and / or kidneys. Deficiency of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase.
