Irifrin Indications
- Iridocyclitis, anterior uveitis (to treat and prevent the rear of adhesions and reduction of exudation from the iris of the eye).
- Diagnostic pupil dilation with ophthalmoscopy and other diagnostic procedures necessary to determine the status of the posterior eye segment).
- Conduct a provocative test in patients with a narrow profile of the anterior chamber angle and suspected angle-closure glaucoma.
- Differential diagnosis of the type of injection of the eyeball.
- Pupil dilation when performing laser interventions in the fundus and vitreo-retinal surgery.
- Syndrome of "red eye" (to reduce redness and irritation of the membranes of the eye).
- Complex therapy of spasm of accommodation in children of school age.
- Treatment and prevention of asthenopia.
Contraindications
─ Hypersensitivity to any component of the drug.
─ Angle-closure glaucoma.
─ Significant disorders of the cardiovascular system (heart disease, hypertension, aneurysm, tachycardia), especially for elderly patients.
─ Insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus.
─ Thyrotoxicosis.
─ Hyperthyroidism.Method of application and doses.
Dosage & Administration
When ophthalmoscopy it is necessary apply disposable stelazy 2.5% solution. As a rule, for achievement of mydriasis enough the introduction of 1 drop of 2.5% solution of the drug in the conjunctival sac.
Maximal mydriasis is achieved after 15-30 minutes and is maintained at a sufficient level within 1-3 hours. If necessary, the maintenance of mydriasis for a long time over 1 h are possible with repeated instillation.
