Hypotel Indications

- Hypertension.

- Treatment of essential hypertension in adults.

- Prevention of cardiovascular disease.

- Reducing the incidence of cardiovascular disease in patients with:

- Manifest atherothrombotic cardiovascular disease (coronary heart disease, stroke or peripheral artery lesions in history);

- Type II diabetes with documented target organ damage.

Contraindications

- Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug;
- Pregnant women and women of childbearing age who may, pregnant (see. Section "Pregnancy and lactation");
- Biliary obstructive disorders;
- Severe hepatic dysfunction.
Concomitant use of telmisartan and aliskirenu patients with diabetes mellitus or renal impairment (GFR <60 ml / min / 1.73 m2) is contraindicated.

Dosage & Administration

Treatment of hypertension.

The usual effective dose is 40 mg per day. Some patients may be sufficient daily dose of 20 mg. If desired blood pressure is not reached, the dose can be increased to telmicartanu 80 mg 1 time a day. Alternatively telmicartan be administered in combination with thiazide diuretics such as hydrochlorothiazide, which demonstrated additional blood pressure reduction when using with telmisartan. Specific patient groups

Renal dysfunction.

The experience of treating patients with renal impairment or patients who are on hemodialysis limited. Such patients are recommended to start treatment with a low dose of 20 mg (see. Section "Peculiarities of Application"). For patients with renal insufficiency mild to moderate severity no need for dose adjustment.
