FIinlepsin Indications
Epilepsy:
- Complex or simple partial seizures (with loss or without loss of consciousness) with or without secondary generalization it;
- Generalized tonic-clonic seizures;
- Mixed forms of seizures.
Finlepsin can be used as monotherapy and in combination therapy.
Acute mania; maintenance therapy in bipolar affective disorders to prevent relapse or to reduce clinical manifestations of aggravation.
Alcohol withdrawal syndrome.
Idiopathic trigeminal neuralgia and trigeminal neuralgia in multiple sclerosis (typical and atypical).
Idiopathic glossopharyngeal neuralgia nerve.
Contraindications
Finlepsin should not be given:
· During a hypersensitivity to carbamazepine or to chemically similar to drugs (such as tricyclic antidepressants), or other components of the drug;
· With atrioventricular block;
· Patients with bone marrow suppression in history;
Dosage & Administration
Finlepsin is administered orally, usually daily dose allocated to
2-3 hours. Take the drug can be meals, after meals or between meals, drinking a small amount of liquid. Finlepsynu® tablet can be divided into halves.
Before treatment, patients belonging to Han Chinese ethnic group, patients or Thai origin should, where possible, be screened for the HLA-B * 1502 as this allele may trigger the development of severe carbamazepine-associated Stevens-Johnson syndrome.
Epilepsy
Treatment start using a low daily dose, which further increase slowly (adjust given the needs of each individual patient) to achieve optimal effect.
Adults and children aged 15
The recommended initial dose - 100-200 mg 1-2 times a day, then gradually increase the dose to achieve optimal effect; usual dose is
800-1200 mg. Some patients may need a dose Finlepsynu®, reaching 1600 mg or even 2000 mg / day.
