EuroRamipril H Indications
- Treatment of hypertension.
- The use of fixed-dose combination is indicated for patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with ramipril alone or hydrochlorothiazide.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the active substance ramipril or other ACE inhibitors (angiotensin converting enzyme), hydrochlorothiazide, other thiazide diuretics, sulfonamides or to any of the excipients included in the drug
A history of angioedema (hereditary, idiopathic or previously transferred during treatment with ACE inhibitors or angiotensin II receptor antagonists).
Application of extracorporeal therapy, resulting in contact of blood with negatively charged surfaces.
Significant bilateral renal artery stenosis or unilateral renal artery stenosis in the presence of a single functioning kidney.
Severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance <30 mL / min) in patients undergoing hemodialysis is not performed.
Clinically significant electrolyte imbalance, which can worsen the course of the treatment drug.
Severe hepatic dysfunction, hepatic encephalopathy.
Dosage & Administration
For oral administration.
The drug is recommended to take 1 per day at the same time, preferably in the morning.
The drug can be taken before, during and after meals, because food intake does not affect the bioavailability of the drug (see. Section "Pharmacokinetics"). Tablets should be swallowed whole with water. They should not be chewed or crushed.
Adults. The dose should be individually adjust depending on the characteristics of the patient and blood pressure. The use of fixed-dose combination of ramipril and hydrochlorothiazide is usually recommended only after a dose titration of each of its individual components.
Begin treatment with the lowest possible dose. If necessary, the dose can be gradually increased to reach the target blood pressure. The maximum dose is 10 mg of ramipril and hydrochlorothiazide 25 mg per day.
