Anafranil Indications
Adults
Depressions of different etiology, course which has different symptoms:
- Endogenous, reactive, neurotic, organic, masked, involutional forms of depression
- Depression in patients with schizophrenia and psychopathy
- Depressive syndromes that occur in older adults; depression caused by chronic pain or chronic medical conditions
- Depressed mood violation reactive, neurotic or psychopathic nature
- Phobias and panic disorder (seizures)
- Obsessive-compulsive syndromes
- Cataplexy accompanying narcolepsy
- Chronic pain (specific for cancer pain, neuropathic and idiopathic pain syndromes)
Children
- Obsessive-compulsive syndromes
- Nocturnal enuresis (only in patients aged 6 years and subject to the exclusion of organic causes of disease)
Contradictions
- Recent myocardial infarction
- Congenital Syndrome extended interval QT
- Acute intoxication with CNS depressants (such as hypnotics, analgesics or psychotropic drugs) or alcohol
- Acute urinary retention.
- Acute delirium
- Untreated closure glaucoma
- The final Hipertofiya prostate urinary retention
- Pyloric stenosis
- Paralytic ileus
Dosage & Administration
Depression, obsessive-compulsive syndromes and phobias. Treatment begins with one purpose coated tablets containing 25 mg of clomipramine, 2-3 times a day. Then, during the 1st week of treatment the dose gradually increases, eg 25 mg every few days (depending on tolerance) to achieve a daily dose of 4-6 tablets of 25 mg. In severe cases, the daily dose can be increased to a maximum equal to 250 mg.
Once you reach clear-cut improvement, maintenance dose is 2-4 tablets of 25 mg.
Panic disorder, agoraphobia. Treatment begin with 10 mg clomipramine per day. Then, depending on Anafranil tolerability, the dose is increased to achieve the desired effect. Required in these cases, the daily dose Anafranil greatly varies patients and is in the range of 25-100 mg. If necessary, may increase
150 mg. It is not recommended to stop the treatment for 6 months maintenance dose during this period should be slowly reduced.
