Maxidex Indications
Treatment of steroid-sensitive noninfectious inflammatory and allergic conditions of the conjunctiva, cornea and anterior segment of the eye, including inflammation response in the postoperative period.
Dosage & Administration
· Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the ingredients.
· Acute untreated bacterial infection.
· Cow and chicken pox and other viral infections of the cornea and conjunctiva.
· Fungal diseases of the eye structures.
· Mycobacterial infection of the eye.
· Keratitis caused by herpes simplex.
Contradictions
Adults, including the elderly.
In severe or acute inflammation should be instilled 1-2 drops into the conjunctival sac (s) affected eye (eye) every 30-60 minutes as initial therapy.
In case of a positive effect of the dose should be reduced to 1-2 drops into the conjunctival sac (s) affected eye (eyes) every 2-4 hours.
Subsequently, the dose can be reduced to 1 drop 3-4 times a day if this dose is sufficient to control inflammation.
If the desired result is not achieved within 3-4 days, may appoint additional subconjunctival or systemic therapy.
Application for violations of the liver and kidneys.
Maxidex can not been studied in patients suffering from kidney and liver. However, due to the low systemic absorption of dexamethasone after topical application of this drug in the dose adjustment is not necessary.
