Escitalopram Teva Indications

- major depressive disorder;

- panic disorder with / without agoraphobia;

- social anxiety disorder (social phobia);

- generalized anxiety disorder.

- obsessive-compulsive disorders.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any other component of the drug, concomitant treatment of non-selective irreversible monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAO), due to the risk of serotonin syndrome, which manifests agitation, tremor, hyperthermia.

Dosage & Administration

Teva escitalopram-1 administered orally once a day regardless of the meal.

Major depressive disorder.

Typically prescribed 10 mg / day. Depending on individual patient response, the dose can be increased to the maximum - 20 mg / day. Anti-depressant effect usually develops within 2-4 weeks after starting treatment. After the disappearance of symptoms of depression treatment should continue for at least 6 months to consolidate the achieved effect.

Panic disorder with / without agoraphobia.

In the first week of treatment recommended dose of 5 mg / day, which is then increased to 10 mg / day. Depending on individual patient response the dose can be increased further to a maximum - 20 mg / day.
