Dimaryl Indications
Diabetes mellitus type II in adults when blood sugar levels can not only keep diet, exercise and weight loss.
Contraindications
Dimaryl is not intended for the treatment of insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus, diabetic ketoacidosis, diabetic coma. Use of the drug is contraindicated in patients with severely impaired renal function or liver. In case of severe kidney disorders or liver need to switch the patient to insulin.
Dosage & Administration
Successful treatment of diabetes depends on respect for the patient appropriate diet, regular physical activity, as well as continuous monitoring of blood glucose and urine. Failure patients diet can not be compensated by taking pills or insulin.
Dosage depends on the results of tests of glucose in the blood and urine.
The initial dose is 1 mg (1/2 tablets 2 mg) of glimepiride per day. If this dose lets you achieved disease control, it should be used for maintenance therapy.
If glycemic control is not optimal dose should be increased to 2, 3 or 4 mg glimepiride per day gradually (at intervals of 1-2 weeks).
The dose of greater than 4 mg per day gives better results only in rare cases. The maximum recommended dose - 6mg of Dimaryl per day.
