Cordipin Indications
- Treatment of hypertension.
- Treatment of angina pectoris (vasospastic angina and chronic stable angina).
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to nifedipine or any component of the drug;
- Hypersensitivity to any dihydropyridine;
- Cardiogenic shock;
- Severe aortic stenosis;
- Porphyria;
- Status during or within one month after myocardial infarction;
- Secondary prevention of myocardial infarction;
- Combination with rifampicin (because of inability to achieve effective plasma levels of nifedipine due to enzyme induction);
- Unstable angina;
- Inflammatory bowel disease or Crohn's disease.
Dosage & Administration
The dosage and duration of treatment determined by the physician individually depending on the severity of the disease and the patient and his sensitivity to the drug. Determine the effectiveness of treatment and dosage based on blood pressure and / or the frequency and severity of angina attacks.
The usual starting and maintenance dose Kordypinu retard in all cases is 1 pill 2 times per day. If necessary, the dose may be increased to 2 tablets 2 times a day. For patients with angina Prinzmetal (vasospastic) daily dose can be increased to a maximum dose of 60 mg.
Patients need to take tablets, drinking their glass of water. Do not break, crush or chew the tablets. The tablets can be taken before, during or after meals. Patients should instruct that they regularly took the drug daily in the same time, and warn that they are not alone increased their assigned dose. They should never double dose if missed this pill.
