Convelsofin Indications

For adults, as monotherapy or in combination with other antiepileptic drugs:
- For the treatment of generalized seizures (clonic, tonic, tonic-clonic seizures, absences, myoclonic and atonic seizures);

Gastaut Syndrome Lennox:
- For the treatment of partial seizures (partial seizures with secondary generalization or not).

For children: as monotherapy or in combination with other antiepileptic drugs:

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to valproate, valpromidu or to any component of the product; acute and chronic hepatitis; liver disease in an individual or family history, severe manifestations of severe deficiency of the liver and pancreas; cases where abnormal liver function in patients receiving valproic acid led to fatal consequences in the brother or sister of the patient; hepatic porphyria;

Dosage & Administration

Take internally.

The daily dose should be taken 1 or 2 times, preferably during meals. Single dose possible if a well-controlled epilepsy.
The tablet swallowed whole without crushing and without chewing it.

Treatment of epilepsy

The initial daily dose is usually 10-15 mg / kg, then it should be increased to achieve optimal doses.
The average daily dose is 20-30 mg / kg. If epilepsy is uncontrollable at these doses can be increased with careful surveillance of the patient.
For children the usual dose is 30 mg / kg per day.
Adult usual dose is 20-30 mg / kg per day.
