Clopixol Indications
Supportive therapy for schizophrenia and other psychoses, especially with such symptoms as hallucinations, delusions and impaired thinking with excitement, restlessness, hostility and aggressiveness.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to any component of the drug. Circulatory collapse, CNS depression of any origin (eg alcohol, barbituratna or opioid intoxication), coma.
Dosage & Administration
Dose and interval between injections to determine individually according to the patient in order to achieve maximum containment psychotic symptoms with minimum adverse effects.
Clopixol Depot is injected intramuscularly in the upper outer quadrant of the buttock. The injections do not cause irritation at the injection site, slightly damaging muscle tissue.
With supportive treatment dosage range is typically 200-400 mg (1-2 ml) every 2-4 weeks. Some patients may be required higher doses or shorter intervals between injections. Injection volume exceeding 2 ml should be distributed between two injection site.
