CIPROBEL INDICATIONS
Uncomplicated and complicated infections caused by pathogens sensitive to ciprofloxacin:
- respiratory tract infections: ciprofloxacin can be recommended for the treatment of pneumonia caused by Klebsiella spp, Enterobacter spp, Proteus spp, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Haemophilus spp, Moraxella catarrhalis, Legionella and staphylococci;
- middle ear infections (otitis media) and paranasal sinuses (sinusitis), especially infections caused by gram-negative microorganisms, especially Pseudomonas aeruginosa, staphylococci, or;
eye infection;
- kidney and urinary tract infections;
- genital infections, including adnexitis, gonorrhea and prostatitis;
- abdominal infections (gastrointestinal infection, biliary tract, peritonitis);
- skin and soft tissue infections;
- infections of bones and joints;
- sepsis;
- infection or a high risk of infection (prophylaxis) in patients with a weakened immune system (including during treatment with immunosuppressants and neutropenia);
- selective intestinal decontamination in immunosuppressive treatment period;
- prevention of invasive disease caused by Neisseria meningitides.
Children
Ciprofloxacin can be used in children as a second and third line for treatment of complicated urinary tract infections and pyelonephritis, caused by Escherichia coli (age treated children - 1 year - 17 years), as well as for the treatment of pulmonary exacerbations caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa, children with CF lung (age children receiving treatment was 5-17 years).
Drug therapy can be given only after the evaluation of risk / benefit ratio in relation to the likelihood of side effects from the joints and / or surrounding tissue.
Treatment of children was carried out according to the above indications. Experience in the use of ciprofloxacin in children for other indications is limited.
Adults and children
Reducing the risk of occurrence or progression of anthrax after aerogenic contact with Bacillus anthracis.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Hypersensitivity to the active substance or other fluoroquinolone drug, or any of the excipients of the drug.
The simultaneous use of ciprofloxacin and tizanidine is contraindicated due to the clinically significant side effects (hypotension, drowsiness) associated with an increase in the concentration of tizanidine in plasma.
