CIPRINOL INDICATIONS
Uncomplicated and complicated infections caused by ciprofloxacin sensitive pathogens:
- respiratory tract infection. When outpatient treatment of pneumonia caused by pneumococcus, ciprofloxacin should not be used as a drug of first choice. Ciprofloxacin is recommended for the treatment of pneumonia caused by Klebsiella spp, Enterobacter spp, Proteus spp, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Haemophilus spp, Moraxella catarrhalis, Legionella, and staphylococci;
- middle ear infections (otitis media) and paranasal sinuses (sinusitis), especially infections caused by gram-negative microorganisms, especially Pseudomonas aeruginosa, staphylococci, or;
- eye infection;
- abdominal infections, bacterial gastrointestinal infections, gallbladder and biliary tract, as well as peritonitis;
- kidney and urinary tract infections;
- pelvic infection (gonorrhea, adnexitis, prostatitis);
- skin and soft tissue infections;
- infections of bones and joints;
- sepsis;
- prevention and treatment of infections in immunocompromised patients (including in the treatment of neutropenia and immunosuppressants);
- selective decontamination of the intestine during treatment with immunosuppressants;
- prevention of invasive disease caused by Neisseria meningitides;
- reducing the risk of occurrence or progression of anthrax after aerogenic contact with Bacillus anthracis.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Sensitivity to the active ingredient of the drug or other fluoroquinolone drug, or to another component of the drug.
The simultaneous use of ciprofloxacin and tizanidine in view of developing clinically significant side effects (hypotension, drowsiness) associated with an increase in the concentration of tizanidine in plasma.
