Cefantral Indications
Infections caused by susceptible microorganisms to the drug:
- Upper respiratory tract infection (tonsillitis, otitis);
- Respiratory tract infections (bronchitis, pneumonia, pleurisy, abscesses);
- Infections of the genitourinary system;
- Septicemia, bacteremia;
- Intra-abdominal infections (including peritonitis);
- Infections of skin and soft tissues;
- Infections of bones and joints;
- Meningitis (except listeriosis) and other infections of the central nervous system.
Prevention of infections after surgery on the digestive tract, urological and obstetrical operations.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to cephalosporin antibiotics and other β-lactam antibiotics, hypersensitivity to lidocaine (intramuscular injection), bleeding, a history of enterocolitis (especially ulcerative colitis).
AV-blockade without installing driver's heart rate, severe heart failure.
Dosage & Administration
The drug is used for intravenous (bolus and infusion) and intramuscular administration.
Before using the drug to carry out skin tests for sensitivity to antibiotics and lidocaine. When used as a solvent solution of lidocaine for intramuscular use of the drug, consider information security lidocaine.
- For intravenous jet injection of 1 g of powder dissolved in 8 ml sterile water for injection. Enter slowly for 3-5 minutes.
- For intravenous infusion, 1 g powder dissolved in 50 mL of 0.9% sodium chloride or 5% glucose solution. The duration of infusion 50-60 minutes.
- For intramuscular administration of 1 g of powder dissolved in 4 ml of sterile water for injection or a 1% solution of lidocaine and injected deep into the gluteal muscle.
