Caduet Indications

For the prevention of cardiovascular events in patients with hypertension and three related factors of cardiovascular risk: with cholesterol levels from normal to moderately elevated, without clinical manifestations of coronary artery disease, when in accordance with the guidelines on the treatment deemed appropriate combined use of amlodipine and a low dose of atorvastatin .

Dosage & Administraion

Caduet  5/10 and 10/10 are designed for oral use.
The usual starting dose is 5 mg / 10 mg 1 time per day.
If the patient needs a more effective control of blood pressure, you can take 10 mg / 10 mg 1 time per day.
The drug can be administered at any time of day with or without food.
Caduet  5/10 and 10/10 can be used alone or in combination with antihypertensive drugs, but it can not be used with other calcium channel blockers, or with other statin.
You should avoid the combination with fibrates Kadueta 5/10.
Patients with renal insufficiency: For patients with impaired renal function dose adjustment is required.

Contradictions

Hypersensitivity to dihydropyridine active compounds - amlodipine and atorvastatin or any other excipients;
active liver disease or permanently increased for unknown reasons, the level of serum transaminases, which is 3 times the upper limit of normal;
combination with itraconazole, ketoconazole, and telithromycin;
severe hypotension;
shock (including cardiogenic shock);
obstruction of the outflow tract of the left ventricle (eg aortic stenosis, high);
hemodynamically unstable heart failure after acute myocardial infarction;
in patients with unstable angina and for 8 days after myocardial infarction.
