Brotimar Indications
- edema caused by congestive heart failure,
- kidney or liver disease,
- essential hypertension - as monotherapy or in combination therapy with other antihypertensive agents.
Dosage & Administration
Tablets are taken without chewing or crushing regardless of the meal, and time of day, with a small amount of liquid.
Congestive heart failure
The total starting dose is 10-20 mg 1 time per day.
In the absence of the desired effect of the diuretic dose should be increased by 2 times (20-40 mg / day) to achieve the desired effect.
CRF
The total starting dose is 20 mg 1 time per day.
In the absence of the diuretic effect desired dose should be increased by 2 times (40 mg / day) to achieve the desired effect.
Cirrhosis of the liver
The total initial dose is 5-10 mg 1 time per day in the combined use of drugs - aldosterone antagonists or potassium-sparing diuretics. In the absence of the desired effect of the diuretic dose should be increased by 2-3 times (10-20 mg / day) to achieve the desired effect.
Essential hypertension
The total starting dose is 5 mg 1 time per day.
If such a dosing regimen does not provide the desired reduction in blood pressure for 4-6 weeks, the dose should be increased to 10 mg 1 time per day.
Contradictions
Hypersensitivity to the drug or sulfonylureas.
Renal failure, accompanied by anuria.
A rare hereditary galactose intolerance, lactase deficiency or malabsorption of glucose-galactose.
