Azithro Sandoz INDICATIONS
infections caused by microorganisms sensitive to azithromycin:
- infection of upper respiratory tract (sinusitis, pharyngitis, tonsillitis);
- lower respiratory tract infections (bronchitis, pneumonia of mild to moderate severity);
- inflammation of the middle ear;
- skin and soft tissue infections;
- uncomplicated urogenital infections caused by Chlamydia trachomatis.
APPLICATION
Dosage and duration of use are determined by the doctor. Tablets, film-coated, should be taken without chewing together with the liquid 1 time per day. Tablets must be applied one hour before or 2 hours after a meal, as food simultaneous reception may disturb absorption of azithromycin.
Adults, including elderly patients and children weighing> 45 kg:
- infections of upper respiratory tract, the respiratory tract, skin and soft tissues (except of erythema migrans): 500 mg 1 time per day for 3 days or 500 mg 1 time per day 1-day treatment and 250 mg 1 time per day in the next 4 days. Total course dose of azithromycin is 1500 mg;
- with erythema migrans: adults - 1 times per day for 5 days (1 day - 1 g, 2-5 day - 500 mg);
- uncomplicated urogenital infections caused by Chlamydia trachomatis - 1 g, 1 time per day. Course dose - 1 g
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Hypersensitivity to active substance or any other components of the formulation or to other macrolide antibiotics; expressed human liver; electrolyte imbalance, particularly hypokalemia and hypomagnesemia with; symptomatic bradycardia, arrhythmia or severe heart failure. Due to the theoretical possibility of ergotism, azithromycin should not be administered concurrently with ergot derivatives.
For the drug in suspension as: the period of breast-feeding; children up to 6 months.
