Augmentin INDICATIONS
Amoxicillin 600 mg / 5 ml
Clavulanic acid 42.9 mg / 5 ml
infection of upper respiratory tract, including recurrent tonsillitis, sinusitis, otitis media;
respiratory tract infections, including exacerbation of chronic bronchitis, lobar pneumonia and bronchopneumonia;
urinary tract infection including cystitis, urethritis, pyelonephritis, infection of female genital mutilation and gonorrhea;
skin and soft tissue infections; bone and joint infections, including osteomyelitis;
other infections, including intraabdominal sepsis;
prevention of infectious complications in surgical interventions in most cases, operations on the gastrointestinal tract, pelvic organs, head and neck, heart, kidney, with joint replacement surgery and biliary tract.
APPLICATION
The drug should be used in accordance with official recommendations for antibiotic therapy and local data sensitivity to the antibiotic. Dosage range depends on the expected pathogens and their sensitivity, disease severity and localization of the infection, the age, body weight and kidney function of the patient.
For optimal absorption and to reduce possible undesired effects on gastrointestinal drug should be used at the beginning of the meal. Treatment should not be continued for more than 14 days without assessing the patient's condition.
Therapy can be started parenterally, then continue orally.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Hypersensitivity to any component of the drug, any antibacterial drug penicillin group, a history of severe hypersensitivity reactions (including anaphylaxis) associated with other beta-lactams (including cephalosporins, carbapenems and monobactams), a history of jaundice or liver dysfunction associated with the use of amoxicillin / clavulanate.
